Scott Cellupica

What were you doing before you started with DA and when/why did you join the team?

After I received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from UMass Amherst in 2004, I worked as an Industrial Engineer for UPS as part of their management program. While I enjoyed it, I jumped at the opportunity to join the team at JS Fleming as a Sales Engineer in 2007 having worked summers there while in college. I spent 16 years there primarily focused in the data center / mission critical / precision cooling environment. In 2023, I began searching for new challenges and opportunities, with the goal of remaining in the industry. There was an immediate connection to the team at DAC. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with such a talented group and I look forward to our future together.

What characteristics make you excel at your job?

I am extremely hard-working and detail oriented. I always give 110% no matter the situation. It’s never enough for me to simply do what has always been done or go through the motions without understanding why something is the way it is. I’m not afraid to ask questions, and I enjoy a challenge and the idea of learning something new each day.

What is a quality about you that isn’t obvious at first?

I’m actually a bit shy.

What is a talent you possess or one of your hobbies that people are impressed by?

I am a long-distance runner with a number of marathons and half marathons under my belt. My boys will tell you that their Dad can fix anything (although most of the credit belongs to my own father, and a little bit to YouTube).

When you have some spare time, or plan a future event, what is your go-to?

My spare time is spent doing just about anything outside. I also enjoy experiencing new things and seeing new places with my family. We’ll often take a day trip to the cape or NH on a “free” day.

Who are your favorite people to spend time with and why?

My wife and our two sons are at the top of the list (along with our cat, Danica). We are each other’s best friends and biggest fans. We are close with our extended family on both sides, and my wife comes from a large family, making for interesting and exciting family gatherings.
